COURSE DESCRIPTION
This course provides the foundational elements necessary for becoming a Certified Adoption Advocate. The course content is not exhaustive and there is more to learn as you elevate adoption expertise to match your options counseling in other areas.
Through this course you will discover and learn more about the history of adoption and what value adoption has in the bible. Participants will discover the role bias places in options counseling and how to navigate options counseling without bias interfering. This course will explore adoption misconceptions, healthy adoption language, and the impact that trauma has on the decision making process.
Learners will identify different ways to discuss adoption no matter what preference the client has in her pending decision. Different methods will be explored with how best to introduce and discuss the concept of adoption with confidence. The course will also explore how best to leverage adoption professionals and how to make a relational referral.
